  • Position: Registered Physiotherapist

Closing date: When position is filled

What makes Trent Health in Motion a great place to work?

We are a physio-owned small family business. We understand the perspective of clinicians and

we work hard to make this an enjoyable, sustainable and supportive workplace.

We believe in lifelong learning, for ourselves and for our team. We support learning for staff

through opportunities for mentorship with experienced FCAMPT & pelvic physios, as well as shadowing opportunities with our multidisciplinary team. We also offer a continuing education allowance of $1000 per year, and up to $10,000 for continuing education programs meeting specific funding criteria. For all our staff, as well as for ourselves, we encourage ongoing learning through continuing education courses, student placements, inservices, goal setting,

reflective practice, giving and receiving feedback, and multidisciplinary collaboration & discussions.

We are committed to making a positive impact on our community. In addition to helping people through one-on-one appointments, a couple initiatives we have taken recently include:

    ● We have developed and run our Seniors in Motion Program, which has significantly

improved the health related quality of life of many groups of seniors in our community,

including Curve Lake First Nation, which we have offered free of charge to 100+

participants (through partnering to secure grant funding).

    ● We are proud members of Green Economy Peterborough, a network of

environmentally-minded businesses, to identify, set, and achieve sustainability goals.

We have been recognized for our leadership in sustainability and for promoting active

transportation in our community through participation in the Shifting Gears Challenge,

piloting a bike-friendly workplace audit, sponsoring and participating in Peterborough’s 2024 Cycling Summit and for co-presenting a workshop on Creating a Bike-Friendly Workplace.

Location, location, location! We are in Peterborough’s growing North end, with a network of trails supporting active transit to Trent Health in Motion. We are on the beautiful Trent University campus, with lots of natural light, views of the Otonabee River, walking trails, and all the vibrancy and opportunity of a university campus. Located in the middle of Trent’s Athletics Centre, we get access to the weight room, cardio loft, therapy pool, climbing wall, rowing tank, sports gym, squash courts and track and field - pretty much anything you could want to help your clients achieve their goals!

We care about the wellbeing of people who work for us. We’re offering a full-time employee package, with competitive compensation, access to benefits, paid sick days, paid vacation, and access to our community B!KE shop membership for those who enjoy cycling and want to reduce their environmental footprint through active transit.

We operate at a comfortable pace,

with hour-long assessments and half-hour follow ups (with the option of extended

appointments as well). We offer flexible hours to support work-life balance, and we have lots of fun at our social events.

We bring in lots of assessments, and we get to work with a wide variety of mostly active

clientele, including elite & recreational athletes (including Varsity athletes and National-level rowers), students, seniors, and perinatal populations. We offer opportunities to do on-field sports coverage for those who are interested in this (although this is not a requirement of the

    position).

We believe healthcare works best when professionals from different disciplines work

together. This is why we have built a multidisciplinary team, so that we can learn from each other and collaborate for a more seamless experience for clients. Our clinical team currently includes a sports medicine physician (who also specializes in pregnant & postpartum populations), physiotherapists, pelvic physiotherapists, chiropractor, massage therapists,

kinesiologist, dietitian and a personal trainer. We also have a stellar front desk and admin team, to support our clinicians and clients.

We have brought together the most amazing people to make up our team, and are looking for one more - could it be you?

What we’re looking for in an applicant:

    ● A physiotherapist registered to practice in Ontario

    ● A great communicator who’s eager to be a part of a multidisciplinary team

    ● Someone with compassion and a passion for helping people

    ● Someone who values lifelong learning and growth

    ● Interest and experience in one or more of orthopaedics, seniors’ health, or sport physio

would be an asset, but we welcome all interested applicants, including new grads!

If this sounds like you, don’t miss this opportunity!

For all our staff, as well as for ourselves, we encourage ongoing learning through continuing education courses, student placements, inservices, goal setting, reflective practice, giving and receiving feedback, and multidisciplinary collaboration & discussions.

We are committed to making a positive impact on our community. In addition to helping people through one-on-one appointments, a couple initiatives we have taken include: We have developed and run our Seniors in Motion Program , which has significantly improved the health related quality of life of many groups of seniors in our community, including Curve Lake First Nation, which we have offered free of charge to 100+ participants (through partnering to secure grant funding).

We are proud members of Green Economy Peterborough, a network of environmentally-minded businesses, to identify, set, and achieve sustainability goals. We have been recognized for our leadership in sustainability and for promoting active transportation in our community through participation in the Shifting Gears Challenge, piloting a bike-friendly workplace audit, sponsoring and participating in Peterborough’s 2024 Cycling Summit and for co-presenting a workshop on Creating a Bike-Friendly Workplace.

We’re offering flexible hours to support work-life balance, competitive compensation, and access to our community B!KE shop membership for those who enjoy cycling and want to reduce their environmental footprint through active transit. We operate at a comfortable pace, with hour-long assessments and half-hour follow ups (with the option of 15 minute express appointments as well). We also have lots of fun at our social events.

We bring in lots of assessments, and we get to work with a wide variety of mostly active clientele, including elite & recreational athletes (including Varsity athletes and National-level rowers), students, seniors, and perinatal populations. We offer opportunities to do on-field sports coverage for those who are interested in this (although this is not a requirement of the position).

We believe healthcare works best when professionals from different disciplines work together. This is why we have built a multidisciplinary team, so that we can learn from each other and collaborate for a more seamless experience for clients. Our clinical team currently includes a sports medicine physician, physiotherapists, pelvic physiotherapists, chiropractor, massage therapists, dietitian and a personal trainer. We also have a stellar front desk and admin team, to support our clinicians and clients.
