Dr. Joan Himann

Sport Medicine Physician

Dr. Joan Himann has been an active family physician in Peterborough for the past 28 years. She received her medical training at McMaster University after doing her PhD in Exercise Physiology at University of Western Ontario. As part of her Family Practice she enjoyed referral obstetrics and sports medicine. She was drawn to Sports Medicine because of the many sports she played over the years, doing additional training to receive her Diploma in Sports Medicine. Over the years she has worked at the Centre for Sports Medicine and supported a number of sporting events in Peterborough such as the half marathons, triathlons, Ontario Winter Games and the International Dragon Boat Race.

She continues to enjoy an active lifestyle with her husband and daughter.
