Ivy Foster

Ivy is a Kawartha Lakes local who developed a passion for movement and exercise at a young age. Growing up playing soccer and dancing competitively allowed Ivy the opportunity to attend Thomas A. Stewart Secondary School with a focus in dance.

To further understand the anatomy and physiology of the human body, Ivy attended St. Lawrence College in Kingston, where she graduated from the Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas & Degrees. Subsequently, she completed her diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion, graduating with distinction. During her time at St. Lawrence College, Ivy had the opportunity to work with varsity athletes in various sports such as soccer, rugby, and basketball as a student athletic trainer. As a Registered Health and Exercise Practitioner through the Ontario Fitness Council (OFC), Ivy is recognized as a Level 3 Personal Trainer. She upholds certifications in older adult fitness, adaptive athlete programming, group exercise, and resistance training, among others. Ivy continues to seek out courses and workshops to strengthen her expertise and services for her clients.

No matter the reason an individual is seeking exercise prescription, Ivy’s commitment to helping others reach their fitness goals is derived from her own health journey. Prior to her decompression surgery for Chiari Malformation (type 1), Ivy had to adapt her exercise programs to fit within her capabilities. With this firsthand experience of managing chronic pain and maintaining physical activity, Ivy approaches clients’ goals with a unique perspective.

In her personal time, Ivy enjoys spending time and recharging with friends and family. She loves to visit a patio or café to support the downtown core when she has the chance. It may not be a surprise, but her favourite form of self-care is exercise! She enjoys Pilates, yoga and strength training. Also, Ivy has recently rediscovered her joy of reading – and is always looking for new recommendations!
